have you tried do download the driver for it? they have a Linux Driver specifically for Suse from their website.

you can download it here
http://www.xgitech.c...sd_download.asp

the card entry you want is the Volari VX3 so make sure you use that selection.
Then download the driver to your desktop. follow the documentation for installation. if you have problems or if it doesn't have any documentation let us know and we will get the answer for you.

installing is pretty easy. Please remind me does Suse use KDE or Gnome for the desktop, it's been over a year since I used it.

Switching is done a the time you log into Suse, there should be an option at the sign in screen for choosing which system to use. should be under the session section on the sign in screen.

if I recall correctly Suse uses .RPM for its file base. after the download is complete unzip the file, Konquerer should be able to do that for you. also while your in konquerer see if there is a file called Install. If there is then could you please paste the contents of that text file in your next post, then I will make those instructions a little easier to understand, if need be.

I'm heading to bed now, it's 1 am here, so please be patient, I will respond as soon as I can.

I use 5.10 Breezy Badger. you can download it from http://www.ubuntulinux.org

If Suse is on the same box that you tried Ubuntu on then Ubuntu will work for you.

all i got was a download to the desktop called "V3-Linux-V1.0-0815.tgz"
i clicked on it, entered the password, and clicked on install with yast. it did what it did, asking for the cds, i put them in, and followed the prompts, still nothing.
i'll restart, see if that has somthing to do with it
well, full schedule tomorrow, college and whatnot.
peace out,

first, ubuntu can be shiped to your door for free. http://shipit.ubuntu.com

next, i beleive that driver would need some special steps for instlaling.

first extraction (to your home folder as shown) then built, then installed. ex:

$ tar zxf V3-Linux-V1.0-0815.tgz
$ cd /home/(your username)/V3-Linux-V1.0-0815/
# ./configure
# make
# make install

or something like that (MAYBE!), there are many ways software (and drivers) can be installed, and that is a guess at how that driver MIGHT be installed.
