and your computer is still running? that seems very unlikely...can you do start > search > files and folders > then search for system.

system32 is not a hidden folder..it is protected..but it's not hidden...you should be able to see it...and you should be able to search for it...but....to my knowledge...you shouldn't be able to run windows without it

to do this...when you get to the screen that let's you choose your user..press ctrl alt del...this will bring up a clasic logon screen...type in administrator as the username and try nothing as the password...unless you have a password set

Hello. Make sure your computer is set to view hidden files and folders, and then see if you can view the system32 folder:
  • Click Start
  • Double click on “My Computer”
  • Select Tools menu, and click on Folder Options..then click the View tab
  • Under Hidden Files and Folders heading, select “Show hidden files and folders”
  • uncheck the “hide protected operating systems files” options.
  • uncheck the “Hide file extensions for known file types” box
  • Click “yes” to confirm, then click “ok”

Close out of there, and tell us if you can see the folder now.

if something moved your system32 folder and hid it..you've got more problems than not being able to find the thing hehe...

Dave...hold off here a minute. Bobbi is going to peek in. I want to get his take on this before we try too much more. Whatever is causing the system32 folder to not be seen/found can not be good. :tazz: I want to get his ideas before we keep trying things.
