Hi all,

I'm brand new to the forum and hope to build upon my PC expertise. I'm from "downunder" and live In Melbourne.

My problem is hopefully something easy to rectify.

I'm running Win XP .... and when I launch control panel either from the Start / settings or from within Explorer, I'm noticing the blue navigation pane on the LH side of the window from where you can switch between views has disappeared completely. The issue is definitely unrelated to the "Folders" button on the menu bar.

I've read elsewhere that this a registry key issue

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer ...... and comments that I should delete the following key ...... "ForceClassicControlPanel" ..... but I don't see that key in my registry at all.

Could someone please help me with this ?

Regards Mike
