Hi I am having trouble loging on to my PC, i am running WIN ME.... when i start up a black screen comes up with the following:

1)Normal
2)Logged (Bootlog.txt)
3)Safe mode
4)Step by Step confirmation

Warning: Windows has dectected a registry/configurration error.

Use SCANREG to correct this error.

I was told to boot using a Startup disk...... the problem is a dont have a startup disk...Can one be created with my laptop which is running on WIN XP and be on a CD instead of a floppy?

Thanks in advance.

Choose the safe mode option let the computer boot up then reboot the machine.

The computer should restore the registry on reboot, if not we can look at other options.

Let it carry on and install anything it finds, nothing hardware related will hurt your files at this point.
