Hi all,

Im quite new to PC problem solving so I'm hoping someone can help me. My computer has recently started when first turned on to coming up with Auto Detecting Pri Master..press any key to continue or Esc to exit.

When a key is pressed, it then attempts to read from a boot up disk. If no key is pressed, after a short time the same thing happens.

The problem is that this error doesn't happens everytime the computer starts up, it appears to be completely random.

Does anyone have any ideas what this problem could be?

cheers :tazz:

Sounds like a loose connection to the hard drive to me, If your comfortable doing it I would open the machine up and check the connections.

If your not confident in doing that please get someone who is, its easy to break something in there.

What too check

Both ends of the data cable
the molex power connectors every one of them from the power supply to the drive
