Hello:

For some reason, I can no longer successfully open Windows compiled help files (i.e. those with the .chm suffix).

This just happened and I don't know why.

The program associated with *.chm files is the C:\Windows\hh.exe (that's the correct program!), but when I attempt to open such a file (lot's of my Photoshop ebooks are *.chm files, for instance), I get an error message like the following:

"cannot open the file: mk:@MSITStore:c:\(path to the help file)"

If MSITStore is a program, it isn't one that I have on my computer -- I've searched.

Any help would be appreciated,

TIA

I am also having the problem of .chm files, but it is a different than this one. When I click help help window is opened but I can see only left panes. When I expand a topic and double click on page I can't see the page in right pane. I have tried this
start > run
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\itss .dll
<enter> but nothing happened. Please Help me to open Help files. Thank You.

Please start your own topic
Although your issue may seem similar there can be other factors that may need to be resolved.
As you stated in your post

I am also having the problem of .chm files, but it is a different than this one.

By bumping on someone's topic it makes it confusing for the tech to understand who they are helping. This can in turn cause the wrong support to be given and can cause instability or worse to happen to your system. Especially bumping on a topic that has been resolved and not posted to in almost 5 years now.
Thank you for your cooperation.
