Monitor Problem, need urgent help.

I just got a monitor from my dads friend about 2 days ago. It's an LCD 17" Samsung SyncMaster171 Monitor. For some reason, the top part of the screen is darker than the bottom and it keeps flickering. Sometimes the flickering stops and the whole screen becomes normal, but than when it starts again, the top becomes darker. Is there any way I can fix this problem ? :tazz:
