I am trying to build a computer:

Motherboard: Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR
Athlon 3000+ 64 S0cket 754
512 MB ocz Ram
Nvidia Fx 5500 Vid Card

I've connected the power supply (20-pin and 4-pin) and tried to turn the system on, and yet nothing happens. When I turn on the power supply, a red led lights up. I press the power button, the cpu fan/case fan spin for about a milisecond, and everything shuts off except for the led on the motherboard. Please help me!

(No drives or hard drives are connected)

Hi,

Make sure the clear cmos jumber is on pins 1&2 and not pins 2&3.

Check the rest of the jumber settings and report back if no change.

Heh heh, the motherboard was shorting because one of the bottom solders was on the case. All fixed

Yes this is very common my next suggestion was to do a out of case test.
