how do i get cable internet from this computer to my other one, using a linksys 10/100 5 port workgroup switch?

you should just need to plug your cable modem into the switch...then both computers into the switch...the modem SHOULD be supplying ip addresses through dhcp...there is a possiblitly that you would need a router instead of a switch as some cable modems only supply an ip to one device...
