HELP ASAP! cant see images at all!

hey there,

i just bought a new laptop

windows xp
mcafee antivirus and firewall

my problem is i cant veiw images on sites....

i went into McAfee and disabled the firewall and tryed it again and it worked... but i cant find anyplace to change these settings so that i can view them without disabling the firewall please help!

hello and welcome to geekstogo,
by any chance do you have windows firewall running at the same time? If so only one is nessisairy and they most likely are having problems with one another. If you don't know whether or not windows firewall is on or that they are both off just send another post.

tools>internet options>advanced>scroll down to multimedia settings and make sure IE isnt blocking gifs and JPEGs.

nope no red x's...

just no image.... i know they're there because my desktop computer sees them perfectly fine... but this new laptop wont...... is there something i need to donwload to see them? (i wouldnt think so, but i would try anything right now)

dude, where did that come from. IE still needs to be fixed, if the user is every going to download windows updates it needs to work. i suggest you give some support and try to fix ie, and once we have fixed ie :) then we can suggest firefox. :)

aol is you ISP not your browser, it won't affect anything. I'm looking around however have you ever suspected malware o your computer. If so please go to the malware forum. But before you post anything please click the "click here" link and get additional information. I think you aught to get your log checked out because we have given everything there is on enabling your cookies. But before doing so, do you have IE6? or do you have an older version.

this laptop is BRANDNEW straight off the shelf two days ago...

i dont know what version on IE i have...
