HI.

I have Windows Media Player 9 on my laptop. By all accounts version 10 seems to be much better. If I download it, will it install ok over WMP 9, as I believe its impossible to uninstall 9? Also any idea how big a download?

Thanks

Media Player 10 is about 12Mb download. It's designed to install over an existing installation as most Windows users have at least v6 on their computers just by installing Windows.

Ive read that Media Player 11 will be out later this year. Should I just use 9 and wait for 11? Or download 10 now? What is the issue with 10 regarding security or protection when you rip your own cds? (Hope Im describing that right). I read that it is not an issue in 11.

11 will be coming out along with vista it may not still be free and it wont come with windows anymore due to the court action from realplayer against MS. I would get 10 its alot better than 9, to rip music and for all my media player needs i use winamp.
