ok, i'm new to C++, and i usually use dev-C++.

in visual studio, it errors if you try to use strings, i know i'm doing something wrong, but don't know what.

if i put using namespace std; after my includes,
it errors "std is not a namespace" or something.

my question is what should i put so that i can use strings?

Nevemind, i figured out why it wouldn't work: the string library or include file or whatever you want to call it was missing. Sry.
