tracing ip packets

hey,

i was trying to conduct a trace and everytime i try tracing a message comes up saying:

IP packets are being lost past network "Abovenet Communications, Inc ABOVENET" at hop 13.

why does this happen... can some one explain it to me.

Do you have any idea what "Abovenet Communications" is? Are you using traceroute? It sounds to me that Abovenet (whoever they are) are dropping your trace packets. Maybe some sort of security thing, not fully sure.
