mouse died?

my mouse doesn't work after installing windows xp proffesional, so I have to move around with the keyboard so is there a way I can fix it?
or is there something that I did wrong while installing it?

Does your mouse use any drivers??? You might want to install your mouse drivers. Also make sure its pluged in correctly.

could it be because it's a laser mouse?

When you mean laser, I take it as "Infared mouse", no that shouldnt affect it at all, but some "Infared" (Laser) mouse come with drivers. Did you try installing drivers??? Have you used the mouse before or is it NEW???

I figured it out, I just restarded my computer a couple of times then it worked, I dont know what was wrong with it.
