My friend recently reformated my computer, and added some additional RAM, and everything is fine, but the sound. There seems to be no sound on the computer. All there is are noises when I click on something, and I tried to listen to music on Windows Media Player, and it sad something about a Sound Card, which I have, and hardware issues. I tried to update my audio driver which is Legacy Audio, and it failed. I really don't know what to do, and I really need sound so if someone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it thank you. By the way my operating system is Windows XP.

Take a look in Device Manager (control panel>system>hardware>device manager). Expand 'sounds, video & game controllers'. See any yellow exclamation marks or red circles?
