Hi
I've hit f8 and selected safe mode (windows 2000 professional) but to get into Windows it asks for user name and password. I tried my username and pword that I use in normal mode but that didn't work. I've tried no name and password, various modes of admin, default, password, adminstrator, etc.

I need to clean off the win32.trojandownloader.agent.al and I see the thread to do that but first I need to get into safe mode. How do I go about getting in?

When you go into safe mode, choose Safe mode with networking. See if that works for you. Just a thought.

Thanks, but I had tried that also to no avail. Any other suggestions?

Try username "administrator" (no quotes) and password blank (not the word).
