I uninstalled IE and put on Mozilla Firefox (always had this on desktop slow in switching to it on laptop). The reason being I got the trojan win32.trojandownloader.agent.al. Will the switch reduce the impact of having this trojan running, until I remove it completely?

ahh it depends, probably not but it will def. help you keep off spyware or and other virus coming onto your system
