Buying an 8 port switch proved quite expensive seeing as when the lan parts over, I'm only going to connect 2 computers in the house...so I got 5 port.

This means I can only have 4 friends round, however, is it possible to hook up a Rig via my spare Motheroard port which is free? would this work?

Thanks,
Adam!

if youre talking about setting up a network using two nic's on your computer...it in theory would work...but it's not easy to do and often causes issues...

good idea is to just tell all your friends to bring hubs or switches with them when they come over

What me and my friends do when we lan is daisy chain two routers together with some fiddling they usually work fine for everyone, you may have to manually assign the ips depends on a miriad of random completely pointless factors as to wether it works first time without tweaking.
