Well My windows Media player stopped working so I have tried downloading another,

I have tried one for XP 98 everyone available and everyone opens the message:

This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version of Windows. For more information, view the information at the Microsoft web site.

It brings up this message after unpacking it, the loading bar fills then the message appears.

Hey saxanog!

Try going to http://www.microsoft.com and download the latest version - Windows Media Player 10. It should definately work with XP.

Check if you have a genuine Windows XP copy. Some Microsoft related programs do not work with versions of Windows that are not genuine.

You can also do this at http://www.microsoft.com
