I upgraded my system from windows 98 to window xp and when I try to re-instale norton systemworks 2005 I get a setup error saying installation has failed. This happens when the down load is at the "updating component registration" stage.
Thanks for any help.

upgrades are always problematic it seems

is this the only symatec product you have installed?

If so, look in c:\program files

for a folder called Symantec or Norton or Norton System works...present

Also look in C:\Program Files\Common Files for similar folders

If---IF--this is the only Symantec/norton program you have, I would rename those folders and try installing again
