Hi I know I'm supposed to post in the Spyware forum etc etc I KNOW I have a spyware, but I cannot post in the section because I have don't have the Hijack This software. I am currently on a laptop, instead of a desktop computer that is infected.

Basically, I cannot go download the Hijack This! software so I can post my log.

The following pops up:

Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet Site [Insert site here].

I noticed at the bottom of the window, it said "res://F:\WINDOWS\System32\Shdocle.dll/dnserror.htm...

Could you help me with this? Thanks!

hello and welcome to geeks to go,

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

As for hijack here is the link on geeks to go, click here
thanx
James

Edit: if that last URL doesn't work, i'll give you a number of sites where you can download it, one of the many will have to work.

Pocky:

If you can't download hijack this on your infected desktop, can you download it onto a disc onto your laptop and then install on your desktop? I don't know why you can't download hijack this on your desktop. You may have to rename it something over than hijack this when you save it.

if you really wanted to you can burn the CD (as coachwife6 said), if you have none i would recommend a cheap flash drive. Since once you get one you wonder what you where doing before hand.
