Ok so i am growing tired of my tower. I am wondering, If I get a new tower and put all the same componets in it like mobo, hard drive, cd drives and so on will i have to format the hd and reinstall windows or should it be all good??? I really dont want to reformat just for a new case. I think i did this once before with my old crappy hp to an areocool case but cant remember if I had to set it up or not... thanks for the help everyone!!!Anyone use a Modular Power Supply they look so nice. It should be 45 min fornewbe or 10 min job for pro. No change needed. Only be careful with all the new wires, don'tplug them in wrong place.

Sweet. Yea I can take my comp apart and back together in about 5 min, I used to practice before I build mine so I knew that I could. Just didnt wand to have to set everything up again.

Make sure when you transfer everything across to A fit the standoffs properly and B take proper precautions against static.

If you have to format the hard drive again just because you changed the case, you're most definitely doing something incredibly wrong somewhere.

Windows really doesn't give a crap about the case, its not like its going to be able to see it

If you change the case, itll be all good, just double check everything before hitting the on button.

As for the anti static band, those are for people who havnt discovered how to use tinfoil (i usually just kneel on it or stand on it barefoot, while wearing rubber gloves.).

Why dont you just get some one to give you a static discharge band, im sure you know an engineer or technician they get them fro free or alsmot nothing and even if you buy one yourself they are only a one or two quid. Or you could just touch the case like everyone else lol.

You dont understand the principle, the purpose is not to ground you, in fact that may in some cases be a bad thing. The purpose of ESD procedures is to equalise the potential energy difference between you and the components/case, by doing what youre doing you may be at a different potential and can still cause ESD, also gloves are an insulator so thats just a bit daft static can spark a surprising distance so gloves are pointless and they themselves can generate static.

So i would trust the band, have you ever seen an electrical engineer standing barefoot on tinfoil.
