I could have sworn there was a number yesterday, but there's no number now - just None. Also Auto, CD Rom and Atapi removable have everything disabled (except transfer mode is standard).

Try resetting that setting to "Auto" again and save the settings. (We set the BIOS to default since we last checked that.) Reboot and check the setting again. Let me know what you find.

Gerryf - no beeps. It is noisy though-which is new.
Wannabe1 - Ctrl Alt delete isn't working. I think I need to hold down the on button to reboot this time...

Go ahead and shut it down with the power button.
Put Bootdisk #1 in the floppy drive and power it on. Feed it another disk each time it asks for one until all 6 have loaded.
Let me know how this goes...
