my cousin fixes computers, one of those days my computer stopped working. My cousin fixed it for free. when I got the computer back it had 20 Gb and originally it had 80GB, i sent it back to him and got 40Gb more and i was ok with that. Basically I want to know what did he do? he didn't add anything, there is just the original HD with 20 GB.

He just partitioned the drive into different size partitions. Heres a good explanation and another good website on it.
