when i place the cd in it doesnt want to load or do anything need serious help i hate xp2 i need it old school agian

If the ME disk is an upgrade then your not going to be able to do it. You need a copy of Windows 95 or 98 to upgrade it from.

Open "Add or Remove Programs" in Control Panel. Is Windows XP listed?
