before you help me please be patient because i know nothing about computers!i just downloaded autoruns and while using it i noticed that there were a few things that didnt look right. for example, "lich" it has no desrciption or a publisher and also WinFixer2006 "uwfx6.exe." Plus there are 8 other auto run entries w/out descriptions or publishers. The other day my desktop was taken over by a spyware message and i had several thousand winfixer pop ups (i dont think the two were related?) i used the VirtumundoBegone, the Vundofix would not run, and i thought i had it all off but i guess i was WRONG! i dont know anything about hijackthis. all i have ever done is surf the web!! please excuse my ignorance and thank you for your future help.

Hi eric pratt...

Sounds like you've got a machine full of nasties... :tazz:

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the Start Here.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself...then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum. Be patient, the Malware Forum is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual. DO NOT REPLY TO OR BUMP YOUR OWN LOG. If it shows a reply it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
