I have been having problem for sometime now and have narrowed to problem down to a program called Hpha1omon. :) If I end this process with the task manager soon enough I can keep working, if I miss it my computer will slow down to the point it becomes usless. :)

I'm not sure it is realated but my HP1100 printer seems to 'hang' quite a bit and I have to reboot my compter to get it running again.

I have run:

Windows Update
CleanUp!
Ad-Aware
Spybot
CWShredder

but it still seems to be there every time I run my computer. I see the file in my Hijack This log but am not sure if just deleting it will solve the problem. Here is the file:

The file that you are referring to is software involved with the media card reader on your HP printer. You only need this program to run if you use your printer to read digital memory cards directly. If you transfer your pictures straight to your computer via a USB cable or some similar means, or you don't have a digital camera that you use with the printer, it is safe to disable this program at startup.

To do so, run a scan with HijackThis and place a check next to the following:O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HPHA1MON] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\HPHA1MON.EXE

Close all windows, then click Fix Checked.

Restart your computer and see if the file starts again. Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Matt
