Every time I open a Word or Excel file a virus check runs, which is time consuming and I believe unnecessary. I am using Norton Iternet Security Professional 2004, and have unchecked the "enable office plug-in" in the miscellaneous column of anti-virus (from options).
I expected this to stop the virus checks but it did not!

Does anyone know what else I could try? :tazz:

Hello walshy and welcome to G2G!

Are you trying to lower the document security settings in Office or trying to exclude the files from any scan?
