using a camera on a usb cord?

I was just wondering if it is possible to get a program that could use a pentax 2.0 megapixel camera and record straight to HDD.

There are a few video cameras that can do this. If this is a regular digital camera it is almost impossible to do.

it has a mini-usb port on it, does that change anything?
