That could be one of many possible things. Do you check your mail via web-mail or a program like outlook express?

outlook 2003 attatched to my exchange 2003 server....it happens on occasion where i'll get multiple notifications

The database indexes could use some optimizations beyond Invision's standard code. We've managed to eliminate most of the multiple topic replies, but they still happen occasionally when someone clicks reply, and the site hangs. Because a row is locked the reply loops. The longer it hangs, the more topic reply notifications that are generated. I'm reluctant to mess with it unless it becomes a more consistent problem.
