Get Windows (Offline Installation)
from here:
http://www.java.com/...load/manual.jsp

Install it--if you already downloaded and installed that

Edit the classpathline to

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\lib\ext\QTJava.zip;C:\Program Files\Documentum\dctm.jar;C:\Program Files\Documentum\config\

reboot.

try to install Oracle again

Documentum is a software they use here. Will editing the class path affect this software?

It should not...the ":" basically means INCLUDE THIS IN THE PATH AS WELL

I think that software overwrote your settings....you might consider going to a machine that you successfully installed Oracle on and checking the path statement there (did it have DOCUMENT on it as well)

If it fails, you can always reedit the path

Gerry,

I tried C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\lib\ext\QTJava.zip;C:\Program Files\Documentum\dctm.jar;C:\Program Files\Documentum\config\

But it didnt work so i tried C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\lib\ext\QTJava.zip

And the java Installer worked!!!! :)

The install screen for Oracle has now come up on the screen.

My co-worker is going to try and install Oracle in an hour or so.

Gerry you have saved me a lot of grief!!! Thanks for your help and thank god i have now found the best tech site on the internet! :tazz:
