Alright, I've managed to elimnated a bunch of crap off my friends computer by updating adaware, spybot, ewido, and norton anti-virus, but I can't seem to keep from getting anoying pop-ups.. I'd like to try to get this issue resolved, but I'm not sure what else I can do.

Here are my logs, I will reply asap and as I am doing this for a friend I am trying to get this done in a timely matter so I will be more than cooperative.

Welcome.. Let's fix it:

RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download DelDomains.inf to your desktop.
To use: RIGHT-CLICK DelDomains.inf and select: Install (no need to restart)

Run a scan with HijackThis and check the following object for removal:

O23 - Service: wsmon32 - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\wsmon32.exe (file missing)

Close other open windows except for HijackThis and hit FIX CHECKED.

Next, go to -> Start -> Run and paste in: sc delete wsmon32

Click OK.

Please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to your desktop.

Close all windows before continuing.
Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
Your computer will then shutdown.
Turn your computer back on.
Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt and a fresh HiJackThis log.

If you receive a message from your Firewall about this program accessing the Internet, please allow it.

If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.

Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed. (My favourite)
Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.

Other necessary Programs:

AntiVirus Program <= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kaspersky, this is a must have.
Firewall <= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
More Secure Browser <= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox.
EULAlyzer by Javacool <= No need to read End user license agreements when installing software--

Alright, the C:\Windows\wsmon32.exe wasn't present and I'll let her computer sit for a while and if I see any pop-ups I'll let you know... and sorry for the confusion, but.. "clear your restore points?" What do you mean by this comment?

Hahah, and I'll be sure to give her computer back with a letter containing text from the "Sow how did I get infected in the first place?" post from CastleCops... hahah I'm sure she'll enjoy that one.

Let's clear out your restore points now.

Disable System Restore;

1. Click Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer
2. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
3. Click the System Restore tab.
4. Check the "Turn off System Restore"
5. Click Apply. An message shows up.
6. Click "Yes" to do this.
7. Confirm with "Ok".

Reboot.

Enable System Restore;

1. Click Start.
2. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
3. Click the System Restore tab.
4. Uncheck the "Turn off System Restore" check box.
5. Click Apply, and then click "OK".

Be sure to set a new restore point.

Let me know if you see any popups - you shouldn't though, we cleaned them up. Anyhow, you're welcome for the help. :tazz:
