Bought Gateway Solo 5150 Thrift shop find. Password protected. How do I get pass previous owner's security? Gateway won't help.

And unfortunately, neither can we. Our general policy is not to help with cracking computers because we cannot possible know that you are who you say you are and you what you're doing is legitimately.

I really do not doubt your being truthful, but that is the way we're treating these

Is there any reason you cannot just wipe the drive and install a new OS? That is what I would do if I bought a used PC anyway
