Hey,

The problem I'm having with Hotmail is that the links to the different folders (inbox, junk mail) work, but when you get into those folders the links on the emails aren't working. it comes up 'error on page ' in the status bar

It only happens on Hotmail, no other page or email provider

Hello and welcome to Geeks to Go.

Please answer these questions:

1. What anti-virus program(s) do you use?
2. What anti-spyware program(s) do you use?
3. What firewall(s) do you use?

I'm using Ad-Aware, norton Anti-virus and also have C-Cleaner, Registry Mechanic and spyware blaster (if that makes any difference!)

I don't know about the firewall, I'm connected to the net via my university, though I've had the connection since September but the problem has only came up in the past couple of days :-S

Does the problem still occur if you go to your Hotmail with Mozilla Firefox?

If you don't have Mozilla Firefox, you can download it here. Mozilla Firefox is a browser, similar to Internet Explorer, but does not have as many security holes. Try it out and see if the error still occurs.

Can you access your hotmail from other computers that connect to the net via your university?

Go to Start > Run. In the box type "regsvr32" Type one of the following DLLs after "regsvr32" and then press enter. Do this for each DLL. (don't forget a space between regsvr32 and the DLL.)

- schannel.dll
- rsabase.dll
- rsaenh.dll

After doing that, reboot your computer and then try to access your Hotmail.

Do it again except use these DLLs instead:

scrrun.dll
msxml.dll
mshtml.dll
shdocvw.dll
browseui.dll
msjava.dll
urlmon.dll
actxprxy.dll

Try doing a windows update: http://windowsupdate...=productupdates

And then try redownloading Internet Explorer: http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

If you have SP2, get the internet explorer update for SP2: http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

restart the computer after each one and see if it works.
