Problem with Hotmail

Just outta curiosity, try starting your computer in Safe Mode with Networking and see if you can get to your Hotmail.

If you don't know how to start your computer in Safe Mode, see this link: http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml

Make sure you select the one that says Safe Mode with Networking, otherwise you won't be able to connect to the internet at all! :tazz: And do not stay in Safe Mode with Networking for long! You are UNprotected when in that mode! Just go long enough to see if you can access your Hotmail, because if you can, then there means that something is running in normal mode that is preventing you from accessing your Hotmail.

uuummm i don't think we should advise someone to go into safe mode with networking for such a reason as this. If we suspect something running in the backgroiund in normal mode we can just get someone to review thier hijackthis log to find out, a way that is much safer.

oh, it's decided to work, I ran all my clean up tools before doing the hijack this log, and now it's fixed... :)

Anyhoo thanks for your help guys, though if there is anything suspicious looking on my hijack this log could you let me know

I see nothing suspicious in your HJT log. However, since this is not the malware forum, attach the HJT log next time, rather than post it out.

May I ask which clean up tools did you use before running HJT? This info would help me solve the problem in the future.

Ad-Aware, C-Cleaner and Registry Mechanic
