Hi,

Can anyone help me out with this.

I would like to remove Norton Internet Security 2006 Product key from the registry. I want to know where the NIS 2006 Product key resides in the registry or somewhere else? so that I can delete it and can start with fresh new installation with new key.

I need your help guys

Rids

Dear Keith,
I tried that already but I am not able to remove the product key from the registry.
When I install the Norton Security 2006 again, it automatically displays the product key.
Let me know if there is any other way to manually remove the product key from the registry

Thanks

What is the exact problem with the programme

Trial versions and full versions place a key in the registry which is almost impossible to find so that the trial or full version cannot be simply re-installed to gain use beyond the trial or subscription period.

well i sucessfully removed my registry key but you have to know not to mess around, first off i used the norton removal tool then

what i did was went to run then typed regedit and under edit i went and clicked find and typed Symantec and erased all references ONLY i stress ONLY to symantec after i deleted each one i keep hitting F3 to continue to the next reference and so on till it said it was done searching and i then used Regcure and did a scan and cleaned up registry errors and restarted and then tryed to reinstall my norton 2007 av and it let me put in a new product key ok so i hope this helps you all
