hey, can anyone please help me.

I have done some tracing of websites, however, there's something that confuses me ;)
I dont understand why the return-trip times not always monotonically increase with the number of hops? What is wrong?..is this normal :tazz:

Thank you

The time between each hop is dependent upon many factors, not the least of which is contention for bandwidth. Hence, the time to get there is not always the time to get back and the time to go someplace with 12 hops may be less than the time to go somplace else with 14 hops.
