Adapter Not Recognized as Being Connected in BIOS

The firmware is for the wireless adapter and may not apply.

What I would do is uninstall any wireless software, including Access connections. Create a restore point, then download the Actiontec driver to your desktop. Double click on the downloaded file and follow the directions. Don't change the directory where the program wants to install... it will be found by the IBM installer software later.

After that, launch the IBM installer program. Look for the Actiontec driver in the list and have the IBM installer program install it. Don't install anything else at this point.
