Yeah you need to clean it using alcohol or acetone(DO NOT LET IT TOUCH THE PCB WHATEVER YOU DO) and then dry and reapply new thermal compound, arctic silver 5 if you dont have any at hand and have to get stuff.

Its the stuff they make the boards out of you know the plasticy stuff everything is soldered onto, mind you they arent using it on new stuff anymore its not very environmentally freindly but it reacts with acetone.

Its a good idea to always have extra thermal paste around. Id get another just in case you needed some again.

Well you dont need to take the HSF off every time to clean it you just blow the dust out of the heatsink blades and the fan, only time you need or should remove the HSF is if you are replacing it or you perhaps used to much compund.

Ok my new mobo will arrive wednesday and i should be able to start gaming btw scot how can i clean the processor from the thermal paste safely i know what to use just not how to use it so i wont short it out and kill it by accident.

You would use alcohol usually with cotton wool or buds to clean off the old compund and dry it before applying new stuff.

Looks like a decent monitor to me.
