Now I can see that it seems to crash at random. I can click on a folder but it just goes into a frozen state and in time, crashes. Did all the most recent critical updates from microsoft, ran through Norton Antivirus not nothing. Terrified and confused. Please, please help.

The Winlogon before that one:
The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.

How's your computer right now? Is it still crashing? If so, what kind of messages, if any, are you receiving right now?

This 'crashing' of explorer seems to happen at random, but I have more information now.
1) The crashing does not happen in safe mode.
2) In both normal and safe mode, I have no viruses with latest updates from Norton.
3) The crash does seem to happen at random, but can be triggered by going to certain places. Like I can always crash it by doing My Documents >> College Work >> Senior Project.
When I go into College Work, its fine. When I click on Senior Project, it goes to the new page but the address bar still says it ends on "College Work" and proceeds to sit in an empty new window, frozen.
4) If I open crtl+alt+del at this point, it says there are TWO "Senior Project" explorers open.
5) If I click the "x" in the corner, it 'closes' the window but doesn't really. Its still in the start menu and still in c+a+d, but is still 'not responding'.
This is WEIRD. I have installed new video, sound, and mother board drivers. I have installed SP2 and tried to overwrite old files so if something was corrupted...
I've run chkdsk /r and /f and neither has done anything.
Please. Please help without me having to reinstall windows. ; ;

Let's gather some more information about your computer:
Download and run WinAudit. Save the audit to your desktop. This will save three files. Take all three files and put them into a single zip (compressed) folder. Name the folder WinAudit. Attach it to your next post.

Here is the HTML file I got from hitting 'save' at the top. ; ;
I like your 'reinstalling is last option' attitude. ^^
I have the patience, but my computers are like my children. One being sick makes me worry like a mother. ^^;

Try running Winaudit again, but in Safe Mode this time.
Whether you get Winaudit to work or not, try this:
start > run
cmd
<enter>
chkdsk /r /f
<enter>
say yes to repair at next boot
Notice that I put /f with the chkdsk in addition to /r, unlike last time. See if that helps your computer out.
The difference between /f and /r
When the “/R” switch is used, CHKDSK attempts to read every sector on the volume to confirm that the sector is usable.
"/F" Fixes errors on the disk
The drawback to using both at the same time is that it can require a hour or more to finish.
