problem downloading internet explorer

i'm wanting to download msn messenger to my computer but i can't cause it says i need internet explorer 6.0 or higher and i have 5.5.I went to microsoft to download interent explorer service pack 6.1 but in want let me it says i have a pending download and to reboot my computer i did and it's still saying the same thing.I was told if i have a download manager i could have a pending download there.But don't know if i have this and if i do where to find it and help would be greatly appreciated :tazz:

Try cleaning out your temp and temp internet folders.. Now try the download again!!

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 onlyDouble-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.

Click start, settings, control panel, internet options, click delete cookies, click delete files, tick to include offline content, click delete history
