Please navigate to and delete the bold file

C:\Documents and Settings\shane\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\[email protected]\Sharing Folders\[email protected]\setup1.8.exe

Let me know if that changes anything?

I am running out of ideas since I specialize in malware removal and not tech support, here is what we can do, we can go with your ghost image of the c drive, and then just clean that if its infected or I can consult with other expert staff in the private forums and get back to you as soon as I hear something?

Hi BHowett, whichever you think is best really. its very strange how it only popped up after the cleaner tool was used, and not before. unless like you said i got another infection along the way. maybe the ghost backup is a good idea. hmm its also wierd how none of the files that can be used to recover are there.

There doesn’t seem to be any other infection, but it is strange how this happen. Let me run it by some of the other experts and see what they say first.

Hello again,

We kicked around a few ideas and this point I don’t believe its malware related, so I am going to send you to the tech staff. Our tech staff are top notch and should be able to get you back up and running.

Please post a topic in Windows XP™, 2000, 2003, NT with a description of your problem. Please let them know you were sent over from the malware forum and post a link to this topic so they can see what we have done here.

Good luck, and I will be following along to the end to make sure you get taken care of :)

Thanks
