windows vista blue screen of death!

hi sorry if this thread has been posted before got a new laptop let my niece use it and it has come back to me with the following probs first of all i get this mess "windows fail to start a recent hardware or software change may be the cause" it asks me to insert my windows installation disk and restart computer there is also a status saying 0xc000000f file \Boot\BCD the disk wont boot up at all i do as the screen says and get a message windows is loading files next i get a blue screen the same one with all the info that windows has shut down etc tells me to restart i do same blue screen tells me to f8 go to safe mode it just flies through safe mode saying its loading window files then it asks me to wait and then goes back to the start of the whole process again where the blue screen comes up if i was trying to do anything in safe mode it doesnt give me a chance i have tried the other mode that says last known good configuration but that does no good the other modes im unsure off ive also went in to F2 to load defaults havent got a clue how do do something with bios was reading somewhere on this site about something beside battery dont want to mess around with it i do know that this prob has been posted but cant find it for looking for it many thanks for your help kells

Did she try to install an incompatible program and/or drivers?
