Laptop won't find router

We used our laptop last night and everything was fine.This morning when we tried using it,it says"Wireless connection not connected".When I go into Network Connections,and right click the wireless connection icon,and click on "View Wireless Connections"there's nothing there.It says"There are no wireless devices in range" or something to that effect.I had my sister bring over her laptop,and she was able to connect to our router.I hooked our laptop up to the router using a ethernet cable,and it worked fine.Any ideas why it would go from working one minute,and not working the next?

EDIT: I hooked up an external Netgear USB adapter,and got the laptop to work with the router,so I guess this means I have a bad wireless card or something.The installed internal card is a (IntelPro/Wireless 3945ABG)

Some laptops have a [fn]+[function key] to toggle the Wireless On/Off. Some others have a separate slide switch or button.

Hi Joeyp, until a laptop expert steps in to help you could try this;

Make sure that the wireless switch is turned on (obvious I know but has to be checked)

Verify that all network drivers are installed.
To open device manager: start > run > devmgmt.msc

If there are any !, ?, or X
in the list then you need to reinstall the drivers or enable the device.

Ooops! I found the slide switch on the side of the laptop,thanks for your help guys.

Im with 123Runner on his post, it was how I found the

Im with 123Runner on his post, it was how I found the
slide switch on mine :)

It figures that it would be something simple,and I just overlooked it.My grandson climbed up on the table and messed with it,and he also trashed my printer,and I had to go buy a new one today.Thanks for all the comments. :)
