Hello cpuchallenged,

Please Download LSPFix.zip from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm and extract the program LSPFix.exe to your desktop.

Disconnect from the Internet and close all Internet Explorer Windows and all other programs.

Run the LSPFix.exe
Check the "I know what I'm doing" Button.
In the left window pane look for these files aklsp.dll & dolsp.dll and click ONCE to highlight it.
Then move them into the right pane to be removed.
If they're listed more than once do that for each one.
Do NOT remove any other file listed. Only the ones named aklsp.dll & dolsp.dll
This is VERY important!
Then click finish.

NOTE: Even though you may see that file in entries in Hijackthis DO NOT try to fix those entries in hijackthis or you will have serious problems.

Next...you are running Hijackthis from the desktop.

Please put HJT in it's own permanent folder....for storing important backups!!!

Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder. Please put Hijackthis in the newly created folder and post a new Hijackthis log.

cpuchallenged,

Let's continue on with the fix...

Please go to Jotti's malware scan 2.99 browse to and submit C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\QConGina.dll for analysis. If found to be bad check it off in Hijackthis, if not don't remove it.

===============

My bad I failed to include REGEDIT 4 in the quote below.

Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into the the new document:

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\qgmymqfy]
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{494e7e63-39f2-4b44-904f-2d5859e0c2ca}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{494e7e63-39f2-4b44-904f-2d5859e0c2ca}]

Save the document as regfixqoo.reg to your desktop and then close Notepad.

===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\desktop.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ffis] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ffisearch.exe

O20 - Winlogon Notify: QConGina - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\QConGina.dll <===If found to be bad

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to"view system and hidden files/folders":

folders...

C:\WINDOWS\isrvs

files...

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\QConGina.dll<===If found to be bad

-

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them from "Safe Mode".

===============

Reboot your computer.

===============

After you have rebooted, locate the regfixqoo.reg file on your desktop and right-click on it. Select the option to Merge and answer Yes or Ok to any prompts.

===============

Post back a new log, report any problems and let me know how everything goes.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE do not restart your computer unless asked, restarting can reinfect your computer resulting in us starting the cleaning up process all over!

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.
