Several days ago I was hit with what Trend MicroSuite calles a Troj Dropper AJE virus. I ran Trend and it quarratined about 900 files. However still I was having problems. Now the major problem is that my browser, no matter which I use, keeps opening by itself. I've tried Opera, Firefox, FlashPeak Slimbrowser, and even IE. IT does it with all of them. I went to your page, YOU MUST READ THIS BEFORE POSTING A HIGHJACK LOG and did all you said. However, a few things I could not do as I have used the trials in the past and can no longer use the program and being on disability, cannot really afford to get this. I tried running CleanUp and a windows error message keeps popping up, which I have included. Same when I try and download Windows Updates, all of this happening since the infection. Adawre lists a winodws (file or forlder) as infected, but I am afraid to eliminate it as it might eliminate the whole Windows folder.CWShredder found nothing in safe mode. Spotbot, Ad-aware, and Ewindo, all found lots of stuff, yesterday, and today, yet the problem remains. I have enclosed several pics of what I am seeing, plus a Hijack log,below. Thanks in advance for your help!

I did and you said. However, after I ran the Lookme2 program, it found 5 files, and I clicked on REMOVE or whatever it was and then it said the computer would shut down. It didn't; everything froze, so I unplugged it and reran the program as I did not know if I screwed it up the first time. Well, the second time it found nothing, which means only good things, keeping in mind as I type these words, the browser has done nothing it did before. By now, 10 or more other windows would have opened up taking me to various gambling sites and stuff. Here is the Look2Me log, followed by a Highjack log:

Hopefully, you will have something positive to report, based on the above. I will do some things and see if everything is back to normal. Thank you for your help. I am on disability and cannot afford a lot of money, but I get paid on the 3rd, (tomorrow) and tomorrow evening, I will send you a donation for your help, which I so appreciate-Marj

* Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall iWon.

* Click Here and download Killbox and save it to your desktop.

* Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Put a tick by Delete on Reboot.
  • Copy the following list of files to clipboard:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\bk.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\wp.bmp

  • Next in Killbox go to File > Paste from clipboard
  • Click on the All Files button.
  • Next click on the button that has the red circle with the white X in the middle.
  • It will ask for confimation to delete the files on next reboot and ask you if you want to reboot now.
  • Click Yes and let the computer reboot.
* After it reboots, run Kaspersky online virus scan here.

When given the option, choose the "Extended database" for the scan.

When the scan is finished, Save the results from the scan!

[attachment=6960:attachment]Hi,
I am leaving right now, but will do what you suggested, above, when I get home. However, I wanted to include what seems to be the last remaining problem. I have enclosed a pic of a window that keeps opening, not all the time, but usually when I start up. I click NO and that it is, usually, but sometimes it will pop up more than once. Thanks again!

That is a legitimate request probably being added by one of the antispyware apps to finish some cleaning on next reboot. You need to click Yes and allow it to run.

I am currently running the Kaspersky online scanner. It has already been running 1.32 hours and going through all the Trend Micro PC files is taking forever. As soon as it is done, I will post the results with new HijackThis log. As of this writing, Kaspersky online has found one virus and nine suspicious files. Will this ever end??? :tazz:
