I'm a poor student living in a studio in Chicago. There is no phone line in my apartment, I only have a sprint cell phone (bleeding me dry). I have a comcast cable and internet connection, also bleeding me dry. I just recently bought a notebook computer with the wireless capability. Do you have to have a phone connection or cable connection for the wireless internet? Does anyone out there know the best deals and ways to get wireless? Is there a cell phone company with decent non-gouging prices that can also give me wireless internet access?

Please help non-techi who is really trying to learn! :tazz:

Its a short range thing its not something you get off anyone you basically buy a wireless router plug it in and set it up and thats it, its not something thats a monthly subscription or anything its a one off hardware cost.

Belkin or US robotics are good brands.
