Is Windows Messenger the same as MSN Messenger?

Just wondering if Windows Messenger is the same as MSN Messenger or if there different? I just want to make sure before I delete Windows Messenger.

No, they are different. (Im guessing that you are using XP) Windows messenger is extremely annoying. You can disable it by going to "services" in admin options.
