Hi ! Can I please have some help with my problem? The thing is that my internet connection slows down after a while until it entirely stops . I checked netstat and saw that i have 40-50 established connections when i am only running 1 or 2 browsers!! I think this is due to a nasty virus from an exe file i opened recently of the internet! I use an adsl 384 kbps connection. My system is an Amd 64-bit 2.2ghz memory is 512mb.I have already followed your instructions for "before posting a Hijack This log" and also checked the system with all the major anti-viruses. hello again. i am having the same trouble this time my internet connection is working better though it's not as fast as i would hope for a 384kbps connection.as soon as i run a p2p program speed falls no matter how fast i am downloading(kazaa-lite doesn't connect at all).oki fixed O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [ms ownage] winPE.exe but could not find winPE.exe!!! i ran pc cillin and nothing was found so did kaspersky online scanner. this is it's log

I think I see your problem. Are you running two firewalls? I see signs of Zone Alarm and TrendMicro.

I am running 1 firewall (zone alarm) . trend micro is disabled. now i am going to enable trend micro and disable zone alarm just to be sure. ok internet is working better now.

hi! wrong!!! still having trouble even after i tried disabling trend micro and enabling only zone alarm. web pages at first load but when i run a p2p application they don't!(even if i'm not downloading .when i test tcp port 4662 of emule i get a negative result saying that the test failed!!! furthermore kazaa lite doesn't connect and shareza doesn't give any search results!please help me!!!

It doesn't matter if you have it disabled. It's still running and could be affecting your connection. You also have Google Web Accelerator running as well as Emule Speed Booster. All of these programs running at the same time can conflict with each other.

And you do understand that if you are running all of these file sharing programs that most of your connection is being used to share files and not to download the ones you want, don't you?

I would recommend uninstalling Trendmicro's firewall completely and see if your connection improves.

Hi! Ok. To be sure, i uninstalled google web accelerator and pc trend internet security and installed kaspersky antivirus personal which doesn't have a firewall. now i am running only one firewall :zone alarm.I do understand that p2p programs consume internet speed when downloading.Now web pages sometimes load sometimes they don't (returning the "the web page is not available" no matter which web page i am trying to visit)and all this when i am downloading from the p2p programs with just 9-10 kbps!(my max download speed is 40-41 kbps). Emule is saying udp port 4672 is not responding and kazaa lite is not connecting at all through ports 2651 and 80(alternative for incomming connections). Additionally after i close the p2p programs and I am still connected to the internet web pages don't open at all ( again the "the web page is not available" is returned).My new Hijackthis log:

OK I fixed it. It was probably zone alarm in combination with kaspersky or pc trend cos when i uninstalled everything and installed panda platinum internet security 2006 everything is working properly.thank you for your time

• You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
• When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
• Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
• You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
• Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
• When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
• Turn your computer back on.
• Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

ok i saw the blastworm popup warning and ran vundofix earlier and the virus was deleted but i deleted the vundofix.txt so i am posting a new one along with a new hijackthis log. also i have been having problems with the windows updates. every time i download them and try to install them my pc reboots automatically right after boot screen loads. i managed to bypass the problem by loading safe mode and reinstalling xp pro from the cd without having to format.

Ok i performed a format and I did a new clean windows xp installation so there shouldn't be any problems now right? I am using only panda platinum 2006 internet security as an antivirus - firewall. The net seems to be responding better although kazaa lite won't connect and emule's port test page won't load. This is my new hijack this log: also can you help me configure panda's firewall?
