My system intermittenlt slows to a crawl and occasionally loose ability to connect to the internet(cable).
I have noticed a file in the startup using msconfig named brtfgod.exe that I don't recognize. I have searched under Google and Trendmicro for this file and no matches were found. However I am still suspicious of this file.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Tiger66, welcome to Geeks To Go Forums.

If you think you are infected with malware. (It may be new malware and anti-virus definitions have not been updated)

Please read this: Read This Before Posting A Hijackthis Log (Click on the link)

That will give you steps that will help you clean up 70% of the problems yourself. Then please download "Hijackthis" and run Hijackthis with log. Save the log file here: Malware Removal - HiJackThis Logs Go Here

When you have followed all these steps. A Geeks To Go Staff Member will help you fix your problem. If it is malware a GTG staff member will identify it.

(Note: Please be patient, the "Malware Forum" is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual.)

Thank you and goodluck. :tazz:

I would'nt get to excited yet... go in safe mode, run your spyware and adaware programs under safemode and see what you find?????? Spybot S & D is a good program and is a free download, try it...
